CBD recipes – it’s not something you hear often – especially if you’re a medicinal marijuana patient.
While THC infused recipes are abundant and instantly conjure up images of cannabutter, already-vaped-bud teas and homemade THC oil, the same unfortunately cannot be said for their non-psychoactive, more soothing cousin.
CBD products are available in abundance, but when was the last time, or even the first time, that you’ve tried something like CBD infused tea or a CBD medicated dessert?
Probably never – simply because CBD recipes are just not that popular!
We’re here to change that today, so let’s explore some of our 5 favorite CBD recipes and what you can do with your CBD products to take them to the next level!
CBD Oil Recipe
Not only CBD Oil is super easy to make, but it can also upgrade your recipe game. Think salads, stir fry and sauces – it’s possible now to add a bit of CBD kick to your everyday meals and food without having to pop a CBD capsule or consumable!
Better yet, once the oil is cooked, you can store it in a dark place between 14 and 24 months and use it when needed for all kinds of recipes.
CBD isolate is a cannabis concentrate that removes all of the undesirable compounds and ingredients from the cannabis plant itself, leaving behind only pure, unadulterated CBD that can be used in a variety of ways. Since it’s already decarboxylated, you don’t need to heat it up, smoke it or even vape it – it’s ready to go as is without further processing.
If you wanted to, you could even add some into a cup of water or eat it as is for the same effect!
Today, we’ll be using this versatile concentrate to make a CBD infused cooking oil.
Here are the only two ingredients you will need to make your ultimate CBD oil:
- ½ cup of your favorite oil
- CBD isolate
While this can be done with many different types of oil, we prefer using olive oil for its flavor and healthy nutrients, although you can always use coconut oil, avocado oil, butter or MCT as a substitution.
After you have chosen your oil of choice, add it to a double boiler and bring your oil to a low simmer. Once it is simmering, add CBD isolate to your oil and whisk thoroughly to dissolve the isolate.
When done, remove your CBD oil from the heat and let it cool down.
Once cooled, you can store it in a sterile, glass bottle and keep it in a dark place for up to 2 years.
CBD Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate might not always be in season, but CBD Hot Chocolate might be! This recipe is designed to get the most out of your CBD tincture while minimizing the bad.
We are, of course, referring to the slightly bitter and at times unpleasant alcoholic taste of CBD based tinctures. This recipe masks the sometimes unpleasant flavour of alcohol and CBD concentrate behind a mask of delightfully sweet and comfortingly warm mug of hot chocolate.
Here are what you will need:
- 1 ½ cups of milk
- 1 tbsp cacao butter
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- CBD tincture
Bring all your ingredients except for CBD to a simmer over medium-low heat. Stir with a whisk until combined, or until the cacao butter melts before adding your desired amount of CBD tincture to the mixage.
Continue to stir for 3-5 minutes with the stove off to evenly distribute the tincture into your hot chocolate mixture.
Once incorporated, pour into a glass, add a few marshmallows and you’re ready for the extra-soothing effects of a CBD infused mug of hot chocolate!
Honey CBD Coffee & Tea
Looking for new ways to sweeten your beverages and get your dose of CBD at the same time?
Here is an option.
CBD Honey is a CBD infused sweetener and a great option for those who want to medicate without the psychoactive effects of THC who’re also looking for a healthy alternative to processed sugar.
Additionally, honey is also packed with countless medical benefits that aid it in killing bacteria, enhancing athletic performance and even have been shown to disrupt breast, cervical and skin cancer cells.
Why not try it out?
Here’s what you’ll need
- Your favorite tea or coffee
- Hot water
- CBD Honey
To make this delicious drink, simply brew a cup of preferred coffee or tea, stir in your Honey CBD until it’s sweet to your liking. Each CBD Honey jar contains 80 mg of CBD, with each teaspoon containing roughly 3.3mg of CBD in each tablespoon.
With CBD infused honey, it’s easy to medicate in a sweet way!
CBD Chocolate Bar
While you always have an option to buy prepackaged stuff, there is also a cool option to make something on your own and infuse it with your own desired amount of CBD.
Excitingly, this recipe only requires 2 ingredients and is ridiculously easy to make. What you will need are just a couple of minutes, a chocolate bar of your choice and some CBD isolate! For some added deliciousness, you can even incorporate your favorite nuts and candies into this CBD recipe as well – you have full customization!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Chocolate bar of your choice
- Any preferred toppings
- CBD Isolate
Over a medium-low heat medium boiler, slowly and gently milk your chocolate bar of choice. At this stage, you can add in any marshmallows, nuts or candies that you’ll want to be included.
Once those are incorporated, add your desired amount of CBD isolate into the mixture and stir to combine. After 5 minutes, take your mixture off of the heat and pour into a parchment or butcher paper lined tray that has been sprayed with oil.
Place this tray into the fridge and wait overnight. Once the mixture has frozen into a solid slab, you can take it out and break it off into pieces to be enjoyed!
Edibles are one of the most popular ways to get your daily CBD dose and gummies are sitting at the top of that list. Being easy to digest and even easier to make we couldn’t miss the opportunity to include them on our list of CBD recipes.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your CBD gummies:
- Gelatin packet
- Fruit juice
- Gummy Molds
- CBD oil or CBD isolate
- Food coloring (optional)
To start, begin by pouring your fruit juice into a saucepan and bringing it up to a low simmer. Once simmering, add in your gelatin packet and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before adding either CBD isolate or oil to the mixture.
If you also would like to add some food coloring to your gummies now will be a good time to do so.
After everything has been combined, place your mixture into the gummy molds and let it firm in your refrigerator. Once they are set, just pop your gummies out and enjoy!
